The breakfast room overlooks the street, and if you’re an early riser like me, you’ll catch the locals heading to work while tourists are still figuring out their day. Parking can be a bit of a headache around here – honestly, most people just use the Park+Ride system or deal with the underground garage nearby, but fair warning that it’s not cheap. The 7.2 rating feels about right; it’s not going to blow your mind, but it delivers on the basics without any major disappointments.

Here’s the thing that really sold me on this spot though – the location is genuinely perfect for exploring Cologne on foot. You’re close enough to hear the Dom’s bells (which is either charming or annoying depending on your sleep schedule), but far enough from Schildergasse that you won’t be dealing with shopping crowds right outside your door. The Rhine is literally right there, and I found myself walking along the water most evenings just because it was so easy. Plus, you’ve got some really solid local spots nearby – there’s this little brauhaus called Peters that tourists haven’t completely discovered yet, and the U-Bahn connections from Dom/Hauptbahnhof mean you can get anywhere in the city without much fuss. Look, Hotel Kunibert isn’t trying to be the Excelsior, and that’s exactly why it works. Sometimes you just want a clean bed, a decent shower, and to be in the heart of things without paying resort prices.

  The service and staff were incredible and very helpful when I needed advice on where to go they suggested some very good places and marked them on a map for me. The room was really nice with all facilities provided. The restaurant and bar is really nice in an amazing location easy to get to and good to relax after a day of exploring

  Great location in old town Cologne. Close to the train station and Cathedral. Restaurants available downstairs we grabbed a takeaway pizza getting in late one night, so convenient. Room was good size, clean facilities, bed comfy. I do love the 2 single doona covers europe does, my husband never complains of me stealing the blankets.

  Easily located in the old town of cologne, 10 mins walk from the hbf. Beds were comfy though.
