I mean, you’re staying right in Altstadt-Nord, maybe a three-minute walk from Neumarkt, and honestly? That’s pretty much travel gold if you’re the type who wants to stumble out your door and be surrounded by actual Cologne life.

The place itself is… well, it’s gemütlich like the name promises, though I’d call it more “cozy small” than “cozy charming.” You know those European apartments where everything’s been maximized for space but somehow still feels homey? That’s this. The owner clearly knows their stuff about what travelers actually need – there’s a proper kitchen (not just a hot plate situation), decent Wi-Fi, and the bathroom’s bigger than you’d expect from the photos. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night, considering you’re basically in the city center. Sure, you’ll hear some street noise during the day, especially when the Neumarkt area gets busy, but it dies down surprisingly well after 10 PM.

Location-wise, this is where things get interesting. Krebsgasse is one of those narrow old-town streets that feels almost medieval – you’re literally walking on stones that have been there for centuries, which sounds romantic until you’re dragging a suitcase over them. But here’s what the listing doesn’t tell you: you’re about thirty seconds from some of the best traditional brauhauses in the city, and maybe five minutes on foot to the Rhine. The Heumarkt is right around the corner too, so if you’re into that whole Christmas market scene (or just regular markets), you’re golden. Parking’s a bit of a nightmare, as you’d expect, but there’s a decent garage about two blocks away if you’re driving. Most people just use the public transport though – the Neumarkt U-Bahn station is so close you could practically roll out of bed onto the platform. The 7.1 rating makes sense to me, actually. It’s not luxury by any stretch, and yeah, the building’s old so sometimes things creak or the shower pressure isn’t amazing, but for the price point and that location? You’re getting solid value. I’d definitely stay again, especially if I wanted to really experience Cologne rather than just pass through it.

  Evin konumu çok merkezi. Alışveriş bölgesinde ve birçok yere yürüyerek ulaşmak mümkün. Anahtarı alma konusunda sorun yaşamadım. Daire gayet temiz ferah.

  What could be improved: For få håndklæder – kun 1 badehåndklæde men ingen alm små håndklæder.
  Intet opvaskegrej – opvaskemiddel, opvasketabs, viskestykker og karklude manglede helt. Samtidig var det et krav. at der var efterladt rent service. Værtinden afviste at levere det manglede.
  Gæster med få dages ophold skal ikke købe disse ting.

  What could be improved: Beds were not comfortable. They were dirty and smelly. There were no toiletries in the bathroom. Basic things were not there in the kitchen. We reached at 11 am and waited till 3 pm outside the property. My wife was not feeling well so I requested the landlord for an early check in. She said it's not her problem.

  Die Vermieterin war sehr nett und hat schnell auf fragen geantwortet. Die Wohnung war bei Ankunft sauber und mit frischen Handtüchern und Bettwäsche ausgestattet. Die Ausstattung war simpel und da wir die Unterkunft nur zum Schlafen genutzt haben absolut ausreichend.
  Die Lage in der Innenstadt war perfekt, ein Bäcker und Burger king direkt nebenan und die Bahnstation war auch gleich um die Ecke. Alles in allem bin ich sehr zufrieden mit der Unterkunft.
  
  What could be improved: Die Schlafcouch ist definitiv zu klein für zwei Erwachsene Männer, das sollte man bedenken wenn man die Unterkunft mit vier Leuten nutzt. Das Bett war mir zu weich, aber das ist ja Geschmackssache.
  Die Tür vom Schlafzimmer ließ sich nur ein Stück weit öffnen weil dahinter das Bett war, sehr unglücklich platziert leider.
