Here’s what I love about the location — you’re close enough to Cologne Airport that early flights don’t feel like torture, but far enough away that you’re not hearing planes all night. The Wahnheide area is actually pretty quiet, which surprised me. Cologne itself is easily accessible when you want to explore the city, but you know what? Sometimes it’s nice to just stay put. The parking situation is a real win too — having your own spot right at the hotel means no stress about finding a place or dealing with airport parking fees.

The Room Experience

My room was exactly what I hoped for — clean lines, comfortable bed, and everything worked properly (you’d be amazed how rare that last part can be). The bathroom was well-designed with good water pressure, and there were enough outlets in smart places. I mean, it’s not going to blow your mind with fancy amenities, but it nails the fundamentals. The soundproofing is solid too, which matters when you’re trying to get decent sleep before a flight.

Breakfast Worth Waking Up For

The breakfast setup here actually impressed me — they do both continental and buffet options, so whether you’re a grab-and-go person or someone who likes to linger over coffee, you’re covered. The buffet has good variety without being overwhelming, and the continental option is perfect when you’re rushing to catch a flight. The coffee is proper strong, which honestly saved my morning more than once. They seem to understand that people have different schedules and energy levels, especially around travel days.

  And the breakfast was absolutely delicious and definitely worth the price. The breakfast, not the night.
  
  What could be improved: The management only put 1 person at reception during plain check-in time and when there was a whole bus checking in…
  Well, there was a guest in my room but at least they fixed that quickly and gave me a different room. But it’s still weird that they don’t check and have the room ready for check-in time; what would have happened if there hadn’t been any rooms left?
  Also, there’s no phone in the room… a 4 star hotel!!! I had to go all the way down in my pajamas only to ask the breakfast times.
  Also, the shower was not entertained at all, had limestone and the holes were shooting water in all directions which not only makes it uncomfortable to shower, it makes the floor outside very wet.
  Finally, the room is okay, but not worth 80€ a night… and that was with a discount!!!

  What could be improved: I asked for gluten-frer breakfast and they told me they have "several products available". Finally the breakfast was great for other people, but I was given just 4 small pieces of cold bread, just defrozen. WIthout anything else. Also I was forced to dine in the restaurant as part of a work meeting, also I was offered just a baked potato under my own responsibility… it is not so difficult to be prepare for gluten-free clients.

  Personally, I really liked the comfort and the room, the only thing, I thought it would be a little bigger (I was guided by the photo on the website). But for a single traveler it would be a great option for a stay. I also really liked the peace on the floor, it's a good opportunity to get some sleep and feel good. And I was also completely surprised by the breakfast – it was incredibly tasty and very filling, I give breakfast at the hotel 100 points!
