You know what caught me off guard about Noe Apartment? The moment I stepped out onto Venloer Straße, I realized I was right in the heart of what makes Ehrenfeld so addictive. This isn’t some sterile hotel district – you’re actually living on one of Cologne’s most authentic streets, where the smell of fresh bread from the Turkish bakery next door mixes with coffee from the corner café that locals queue up at every morning around 8am.

The apartment itself is honestly what I’d call “practical comfortable” – it’s a solid 3-star setup that doesn’t pretend to be fancy, but everything works exactly like it should. The kitchen actually has proper cookware (I mean, not just those flimsy pans you usually find), and the windows are thick enough that you won’t hear every tram rumbling by, though you’ll definitely catch the Saturday night energy when Ehrenfeld’s bar scene gets going. I loved that I could walk to Subway Ehrenfeld in about eight minutes – and if you’ve never experienced Cologne’s underground electronic scene, well, you’re missing something special. During the day, the neighborhood transforms completely; it’s all vintage shops, record stores, and that perfect mix of students and artists grabbing lunch at spots most tourists never find.

What really sold me on the place was how it sits right between worlds. You’re far enough from the cathedral crowds to breathe (and save money on meals), but the S-Bahn gets you to the old town in maybe 15 minutes when you want that classic Cologne experience. The host was refreshingly straightforward during check-in – no overselling, just practical info about where to find the best döner (two blocks toward the train station) and which nights get loud (pretty much Friday and Saturday, but honestly, that’s part of Ehrenfeld’s charm). The 7.7 rating makes sense to me – it’s not luxury, but it nails what matters most: location, functionality, and that intangible feeling that you’re staying somewhere real instead of some corporate bubble. I actually extended my stay by two nights because I wasn’t ready to leave the neighborhood yet.

  What could be improved: Es gab kein Zimmer die Besitzer sind abgehauen. Statt dem Cafe Noe geschlossene Türen und Spinnweben.
  Wir muten ohne Zimmer zurück fahren. Das Geld ist futsch. Vorsicht Betrüger.

  Appartamento moderno, ampio, pulito e a 2 min dalla metro linea 3 e 4. Abbiamo soggiornato 2 notti durante la settimana e non abbiamo avuto problemi con rumore dal bar di sotto. L'area è vivace e interessante, sicura e piena di locali dove far colazione, brunch ed altro (ampia scelta anche x vegetariani e vegani). Check-in e check-out facili. Claudio, responsabile dell'appartamento, è gentilissimo e disponibile.

  Proche du métro et dans une rue pleine de bars & restos.
  Terrasse sympa sur l'arrière (mais pas entretenue).
  Prix correct pour Koln.
  Bons lits (un lit double; un lit simple dans la chambre sur l'arrière ; un convertible dans le salon donnant sur la rue passante).
  
  What could be improved: Difficile de se garer à proximité.
  Placé juste au-dessus d'un bar, dans lequel on doit récupérer les clés. Bruyant jusque 23h30.
  Arrangement interne étrange. Pas de fenêtre dans la chambre principale.

  Der Wohn- und Esszimmerbereich ist wohl komplett neu und roch auch sehr gut und sauber.
  Auch das Boxspring-Bett mit allem drum und dran ist wohl nagelneu und die Bettwäsche war sauber und duftete.
  Die Küche hat eine Spülmaschine. Ebenso gibt es eine Kaffeemaschine und eine Mikrowelle.
  Es gab neben den Putzmitteln auch einen Staubsauger, Mülltüten und Putzlappen, falls man das mal bräuchte.
  Im Bad stand Toilettenpapier und Handseife bereit. Auch frische, saubere und gut riechende Handtücher gab es.
  
  Die Schlüsselübergabe war trotz später Anreise kein Problem und der Herr war sehr freundlich und zeigte uns die Wohnung.
  
  What could be improved: Leider gibt es im Bad keine Steckdose und die Heizung wurde morgens im Bad nicht warm.
  Für die Gemütlichkeit fehlten mir ein paar kleine Stehlämpchen.
  Die Ausstattung der Küchenutensilien kann bestimmt noch erweitert werden.

  Les hôtes étaient super sympa, à l'écoute et prêts à aider pour tout ! Ils se sont montrés très gentils et serviables. L'appartement est superbe, très propre et très bien situé: à 2 minutes d'un arrêt de tram. Le rapport qualité/prix est excellent. Si je reviens à Cologne, je retournerai avec plaisir là-bas.
  
  What could be improved: Comme c'est un nouveau bien en location, il manquait quelques facilités de base (sèche-cheveux, sel, poivre, …). Ce qui n'a pas réellement été un problème car nos hôtes nous ont à chaque fois d'une grande aide.
