The apartment sits on the second floor (and yes, it’s on the right like they specify, which honestly saved me from wandering around like a lost tourist), and while the building itself won’t win any architecture awards, there’s something refreshingly authentic about it. The neighborhood has this lived-in feel where you’ll hear kids playing in the courtyard and catch the smell of someone’s dinner wafting through the halls – I mean, that’s real life, right?

What really won me over was how practical everything felt. The host clearly understands what travelers actually need – decent Wi-Fi that doesn’t cut out during video calls, a kitchen stocked with the basics so you’re not hunting for a can opener at midnight, and enough space to spread out your stuff without living out of a suitcase. The trade fair connection is legit too; I watched business travelers come and go during Photokina week, and they all seemed to have that relieved look of people who’d found a solid base without the convention center hotel prices. Parking wasn’t the nightmare I expected either – there’s usually street parking if you’re willing to walk a block or two.

Getting into the city center really is that quick – I’d usually grab the tram from nearby and be in the old town before I’d finished my morning coffee. Plus, there’s a decent Turkish place around the corner that locals actually eat at, not just tourists, which always feels like finding a little secret. If you’re looking for Instagram-worthy luxury, keep scrolling. But if you want a honest, comfortable base that won’t eat your entire travel budget and gives you easy access to everything Cologne offers – well, this unpretentious little apartment might just be exactly what you need.

  Die Wohnung war sehr sauber. Sie ist modern eingerichtet (für meinen Geschmack etwas viel Glitzer – aber das ist Geschmacksache).
  Zu erwähnen ist auch die zentrale Lage. Straßenbahn-Haltestelle nur ca. 350 m entfernt. In knapp 10 Minuten ist man in der Innenstadt.
  Und hat auch das Weimarer Stübchen (liegt gerade ums Eck) sehr gut gefallen.
  Zu erwähnen ist noch dass der Fön nicht funktioniert hat (sollte evtl. ausgetauscht werden). War für uns nicht wichtig, da wir einen dabei hatten.
  
  What could be improved: In der Dusche gibt es keine Halterung für die Brause. Ein entspanntes duschen war nicht möglich da man immer die Brause in der Hand halten musste.
  Und wir waren der Meinung, dass Rauchmelder an die Decke gehören und nicht abgelegt auf irgendwelchen Schränken

  Nicely decorated flat with balcony in a very quiet area but only a few minutes from tram station, shops, places to eat etc. Dishwasher! Comfortable beds. Friendly host.
