The lobby has this modern, welcoming vibe that doesn’t try too hard to impress, which I actually appreciate more than those over-the-top hotel entrances.

Location & Neighborhood

Here’s what I love about staying here — you can walk to the cathedral in about five minutes, maybe less if you’re eager to see it. The Old Town surrounds you with its mix of historic charm and modern energy, and you know what, couples seem to get this because they consistently rate the location a 9.1. I mean, when you step outside, you’re right there among the cobblestone streets, traditional brewhouses, and those little shops that make wandering around Cologne such a pleasure. The fact that so many guests come back here tells you something about how this spot grows on people.

The Room Experience

The room I stayed in was well-designed without being flashy — clean lines, comfortable bedding, and those little touches that show someone actually thought about what travelers need. There’s parking available at the hotel too, which if you’re driving in Cologne, you’ll definitely appreciate since finding a spot in the city center can be a real headache otherwise.

  The beds were extremely comfortable and the location couldn’t be better, with plenty of great restaurants and bars just steps away. Patrick in the bar was a highlight – so friendly and easy to chat to. The shower was excellent – hot with great pressure. Freisenplatz station is only a 2-minute walk, which made getting around very easy. Breakfast was fresh and tasty. Would happily stay here again.

  Breakfast was amazing. Hotel staff very friendly and beds the most comfortable we have had in a long time. Great value for money and great location. Building site across road was noisy during the day but we were out so didn't bother us at all. Very quiet at night. Perfect stay.

  The Staff were friendly & helpful. The rooms were clean, very spacious & the beds were so comfortable! Breakfast was excellent, the choice range was just amazing! While our boys enjoyed the gym facilities, we relaxed in the sauna after a day of sightseeing. We simply loved the hotel and booked an extra night.

  The hotel location is close to excellent transport links in Cologne. Rooms were clean. Breakfast was fantastic. There was free water provided at reception after check out. Staff were extremely helpful, Much appreciated. 🙂

  Once again, Lindner Hotel came through and did not disappoint! 🥰 While the room I had this time was a bit smaller than the one I stayed in at the Düsseldorf branch, it still offered all the comfort and charm I’ve come to expect from Lindner. That king-size bed? A dream. So soft, so cozy, I could’ve stayed wrapped in those blankets forever!
  
  I absolutely love how each floors had their own unique themes, it’s such a thoughtful touch that makes exploring the hotel itself a little adventure. And oh, the rain shower! Now, I’ll admit the water pressure was epic, like a waterfall, unlike my experience I had in Düsseldorf, but it was still refreshing and relaxing at the Düsseldorf branch.
  
  I did miss the sky bar from the Düsseldorf location, but the bar at the Köln branch was still a great spot to unwind. Shoutout to Marcel, the bartender, super knowledgeable and knows how to craft a proper drink. 🍸🙌🏾
  
  The staff were just fantastic, so friendly and helpful across the board. But a special thank you goes to Nadiem at the front desk. He went above and beyond! Incredibly polite, always helpful, and full of spot-on local tips for exploring Köln. Lindner, if you’re reading this, give this man a raise. He’s a true asset to your team! 🌟
  
  In fact, thanks to Nadiem’s top-notch hospitality (and yes, that magical bed again), I’ve already started rebooking another weekend stay this weekend coming up. I can’t wait to return!
  
  I took a few photos during my stay, but confession time, I didn’t make it to breakfast. I was out living my best life into the early morning hours, and when I came back, there were still 30 minutes before breakfast opened. I thought, “Let me just rest a little…” Next thing I knew, I was waking up from what I can only describe as a cloud-riding coma. That bed is no joke. 😴☁️
  
  The location of the hotel is perfectly central—walking distance to shopping, bars, clubs, restaurants, and major attractions. Super convenient for exploring the city on foot!
  
  What could be improved: The garage, though, was a bit tight, getting in and out took some Mario Kart-level skills. 🚗💨 It would be helpful if guests were also given a heads-up about how to find the garage entrance ramp, I ended up parking in the public garage to check in, and then found out the hotel had it's garage was under the hotel. That said, a really good discount wouldn’t hurt for the thrill, right? 😄
