Something about how the building sits back from the main road, plus Germans are generally pretty respectful about noise anyway.

What really sells this place, though, is how it feels like someone’s actual home rather than a sterile rental. There are thoughtful touches scattered around – proper coffee in the kitchen, a few local guidebooks that aren’t just tourist trap lists, even decent hangers in the closets (seriously, why do so many places cheap out on hangers?). The 9.8 rating makes total sense when you’re actually staying there because it’s clear the owners understand what business travelers and longer-stay visitors actually need. You’ve got space to spread out, a proper work setup if you need it, and that sense of having your own little corner of Cologne rather than just crashing somewhere. The neighborhood itself has a couple of solid restaurants within walking distance – nothing fancy, just good German food without the tourist markup – and there’s a decent bakery about three minutes away that opens early if you’re catching morning flights out of CGN.   Easy to find the accommodation and clear instructions on how to get the keys. Very clean, spacious, well equipped, and comfortable, with perfect hosts (Connie even ran out to our car with an umbrella when we arrived back in the rain 😀). Nice outside space to use in the beautiful garden. Close to supermarkets and the tram for easy access into the city. Would definitely recommend.
  
  What could be improved: The only tiny thing we didn’t like was having the tv in the bedroom rather than the lounge.

  Nice and spacious apartment with a fully functional kitchen, basically got everything you need. Hosts are really nice and helpful.

  Sehr herzliche Begrüßung der Vermieter. Schön ruhige Lage mit guter Bahn Anbindung. Alle Zimmer waren sauber und mit allem ausgestattet was man so braucht. Der Garten ist ein Traum, obwohl wir keine Zeit hatten ihn zu nutzen.
