The apartments themselves are solid three-star territory, nothing fancy but everything works the way it should. The kitchenettes are properly equipped (not just for show like some places), which is clutch when you want morning coffee without hunting down a café or when you pick up those amazing cheeses from the Saturday market. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward – no hovering desk clerk trying to upsell you on breakfast packages or city tours. The rooms have that clean, unfussy German efficiency going on, though I’ll be honest, the WiFi can get a bit spotty during evening hours when everyone’s streaming. The soundproofing is actually pretty decent, which surprised me given how close the buildings are here. You might catch some street conversation during the day, but it dies down nicely after dinner time.

Here’s the thing about staying in Mülheim – you’re going to feel like you discovered something most tourists miss. There’s this fantastic Turkish bakery about a five-minute walk down Ferdinandstraß that locals queue up at every morning, and the S-Bahn connection into central Cologne is honestly more reliable than trying to drive and park near the Dom. The whole neighborhood has this lived-in authenticity that’s hard to find in city centers anymore. Plus, grocery shopping is ridiculously easy with an Edeka practically around the corner, and there’s something satisfying about buying your own produce instead of eating hotel breakfast every single day. The 7.9 rating makes total sense to me – it’s not trying to be boutique-fancy, but it delivers exactly what you need for exploring Cologne without the premium prices or the crowds stumbling back from the Altstadt at 2 AM. Perfect for people who want to experience the city like an actual resident rather than a tourist checking boxes.

  Das Zimmer war wirklich sehr sauber und ordentlich. Die Betten waren auch sehr bequem.
  Die Kommunikation mit dem Anbieter war 1A. Uns wurde alles ausführlich erklärt, und es gab noch Tipps, wie man sich am günstigsten in Köln fortbewegen kann.
  Alles in allem ein sehr tolles Apartment, wo man auch gerne mal etwas länger übernachten kann.
  Für nächstes Jahr buchen wir auf jeden Fall drei Tage

  It's a great place if one travel to Cologne for events in Kolnmesse – it's just around the corner. The location is quite good, pretty quiet, there's a free parking and all the necessary shops/services are nearby. The city center is ~20min walk away. The apartment is spacious, clean and has a nice terrace.
