Here’s what I love about staying in Nippes — you’re in Cologne but away from the tourist chaos around the cathedral. The hotel’s position near Nordpark is brilliant, especially if you’re traveling as a couple (apparently other guests agree, rating the location 9.5 for romantic trips). You can actually walk to the park in the morning for a proper German breakfast at one of the cafés, then hop on public transport to reach the old town in about 15 minutes. The neighborhood has that authentic local vibe where you’ll see families doing their weekend shopping and elderly folks walking their dogs — real life, you know?

The Room Experience

My room was exactly what you’d want after a day of exploring — comfortable without being flashy, with enough space to actually unpack your suitcase properly. The beds are solid (German hotels generally nail this), and the windows open wide, which is something I always check.   We liked the apartment- it was very roomy and the bed was comfortable. The public transport bus we used provided a regular service into and out of the city.

  The spacious apartment had a balcony and a nice kitchen which could be a bit more equipped with utensils and cutlery.
  
  Very good location close to Köln zoo and accessible via tram. Supermarket close by.
  
  Quiet area and very close to Nordpark which is excellent especially for those with children.
  
  What could be improved: The apartment wasn't very clean. For the money you pay you'd expect better.
  
  Towels provided were for one each for a whole week.
  
  Kettle was full of scales and no dining table was available.

  Die Wohnung ist richtig groß ! Sehr sauber ! Nicht überladen aber trotzdem geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Einige Details zeigen einen bestimmten Geschmack der einem jedoch nicht aufgedrängt wird und den ich persönlich sehr gemocht habe. Überall warten kleinen Überraschungen und man hat dadurch noch mehr das Gefügl willkommen zu sein ! Noch dazu ist der Vermieter leicht erreichbar und sehr freundlich !

  Eine großzügige, moderne Wohnung in ruhiger Lage, großem Balkon, offener Küche mit hochwertiger Ausstattung, Bad mit Badewanne/Dusche, Flur und Schlafzimmer. Alles geschmackvoll dekoriert. Die Wohnung befindet sich in einem geoflegten Haus, ca. 15 Minuten. per Auto oder ÖPNV von der Altstadt entfernt. Auf Nachfrage wird noch ein Tiefgaragenstellplatz zur Verfügung gestellt. Die Kommunikation mit dem Vermieter war klasse. Alles bestens, wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.
