What really sold me though was the parking situation – and I don’t say that lightly because finding a spot in the old town usually involves circling blocks while questioning your life choices. Having that guaranteed space means you can actually explore the Rhine area without the stress, maybe drive out to Bonn for a day trip or hit up some of the smaller towns along the river.

There’s this great bakery just around the corner on Severinstraße that locals actually go to (not the tourist trap kind), and you’re walking distance from the Chocolate Museum – which, let me tell you, is worth the slight detour even if museums aren’t usually your thing. The neighborhood has this lived-in feel during the day, with people heading to work and kids walking to school, but it gets pretty quiet in the evenings. Sometimes you’ll hear a bit of street noise since it’s still the city center, but nothing that kept me up. The check-in was smooth too – the host was responsive and actually gave useful tips about where to grab dinner, not just the standard tourist recommendations. For the price point and that 8.9 rating, it makes sense. It’s not trying to be some luxury experience, but it covers all the bases really well and feels like a proper home base for exploring Cologne.

  What could be improved: Daire olanaklarında çamaşır makinesi imkanı olduğu yazmasına rağmen daireye vardığımızda çamaşır makinesi olmadığını gördük. Ev sahibine yazdığımda makinenin bozulduğunu, birkaç hafta içinde yenisini temin edeceklerini istersek çamaşırlarımızı yıkayıp faturayı kendisine iletirsek ücreti ödeyebileceğini söyledi. Anlayışlı bir yaklaşım ancak rezervasyon öncesi çamaşır makinesinin olmadığı bilgisini almış olmak isterdim.
  Ayrıca daire direkt zemin katta hemen camın ardından arabalar geçiyor. Bu bilgi de rezervasyondan sonra edinildi. Rahatsız olacaklar için belirtmek isterim. Son olarak 4 kişi olduğumuzu belirtmeme rağmen sadece küçük koltuk yatak yapılmıştı. Gece çok konforlu olmadı.
