The bathroom deserves a mention too – heated floors, which sounds like a small thing until you’re stepping out of the shower on a chilly December morning in Cologne. Staff at check-in were refreshingly straightforward, no fake enthusiasm, just efficient and helpful when I needed dinner recommendations.

Here’s what I really appreciated: they seem to understand that business travelers and tourists have different needs, so the common areas have these distinct zones where you can actually work if you need to, or just lounge with a drink. The breakfast situation is solid – not Instagram-perfect, but proper German bread, decent coffee, and they don’t skimp on the cold cuts and cheeses. Parking was easier than I expected for this part of the city, though you’ll pay extra for it. The Zülpicher Straße nightlife is close enough if that’s your thing, but far enough that you won’t be kept awake by it. Look, it’s not going to change your life, but if you want a genuinely comfortable base in Cologne without paying cathedral-district prices, this place gets the job done with some actual style thrown in.

  Not really elegance as described. The owner was helpful but the place was not that great. We reserved this place but didn’t stay there.after checking in we did our event in Koln then drove home. The setup was weird. The place was in a basement.

  What could be improved: If there is no parking inside it is quite a challenge to find a spot to park on the streets.

  The host was extremely helpful and responsive. The apartment was clean and the beds were really comfortable.
  
  What could be improved: The property is a large converted basement, so only one side of the apartment has windows. I thought that the title 'LUXE' was a reference to Luxury but I think its a reference to the area. It can be misleading as the price was quite high but the property is not luxury as such.

  What could be improved: The property we stayed in is an basement apartment with an appalling moist „basement“ smell. We had a hard time sleeping because of the smell. Bedclothes were moist and smelly as well. We left as soon as we could. The presentation and advertisement of this property is highly misleading.
