Located in Neustadt-Süd, this four-star property sits on Alteburger Straße, which might not ring a bell if you’re new to Cologne, but trust me, it’s perfectly positioned for exploring the city without being stuck in the touristy chaos.

Neustadt-Süd is where locals actually want to live — you know, tree-lined streets, cafes that aren’t tourist traps, and that authentic German neighborhood vibe. I mean, you’re still close enough to walk to the cathedral and main shopping areas, but you get to retreat to somewhere that feels more residential. The parking situation here is actually manageable too, which anyone who’s driven in Cologne will appreciate. You’ll find some excellent restaurants within a few blocks, including spots that serve proper Kölsch in the traditional thin glasses.

Room Experience

The room design strikes that sweet spot between modern and comfortable — clean lines without feeling sterile. What I really appreciated was the attention to lighting; there are actually enough outlets near the bed (revolutionary concept, right?), and the blackout curtains work properly. The bathrooms are well-designed with good water pressure, which honestly makes or breaks a hotel stay for me.   Amazing fun apartment with so much attention to detail to make it so very unique! Lots of room and very comfortable bed and sofas. Very central.
  
  What could be improved: The floors could do with a good wet wash as feet got dirty. There were tiny pieces of glass on the living room floor, one got stuck in my wife's foot. The bathroom needs at least one mirror lowered down as both are set very high on the walls.

  Located in a lovely residential area with plenty of resteraunts and shops within walking distance. A short walk to the tram stop also an enjoyable walk into the city center along the river. We felt very safe day and night walking round.
  The apartment itself is fabulous- very quirky, very comfortable and spacious. We did a mix of cooking and take away. It has everything u need and the owners are very accommodating.
  It was the perfect spot to stay 👌 we broought a travel cot for the baby, there was a very xomfortable bed in thr bedroom and a sofa bed option too 🙂

  We loved how the place was furnished and the creativity put into every detail. Very close to public transport (10 min to the bus stop, 15 min bus ride to the main station) and close to some shops and restaurants. Definitely would stay again next time we are in Köln!
