Adina Apartment Hotel Cologne Overview

Honestly, when I first pulled up to the Adina on Hans-Imhoff-Straße, I wasn’t sure what to expect – I mean, Deutz isn’t exactly where most tourists picture themselves staying in Cologne. But you know what? That turned out to be exactly why this place works so well. You’re literally a two-minute walk from Deutz/Messe S-Bahn station, which gets you across the Rhine and into the old town faster than you’d think, but without all the tourist chaos right outside your door.

The building itself has this modern apartment-hotel vibe that actually feels authentic rather than trying too hard. Walking into the lobby, there’s this clean, minimalist thing going on – lots of natural light, decent coffee smell drifting from their little café area. What I really appreciated was how the staff handled check-in; they actually seemed to know the neighborhood and could tell you which direction to walk for the best Rhine views (hint: it’s not the obvious way). The rooms are proper apartment-style setups with kitchenettes that aren’t just for show – I’m talking full-size fridges, decent cookware, the works. The beds are honestly pretty comfortable, and the soundproofing is solid enough that you won’t hear every tram rumbling by, though you’ll definitely know you’re in a living city.

Here’s what makes this place special though – the location gives you this insider’s perspective on Cologne that most visitors miss entirely. You’re basically living like a local in Deutz, which has become quite the up-and-coming area over the past few years. There’s this fantastic Turkish bakery about three blocks away that locals queue up at every morning, and the whole riverside walk along the Rhine is right there when you need to decompress. Plus, and this might sound silly, but the views across to the cathedral from this side of the river are actually better than being right underneath it. The 8.6 rating makes sense when you factor in that it delivers on being a proper apartment experience rather than just another hotel room – you can spread out, do laundry, grab groceries at the Rewe down the street. Sure, it’s not going to have the old-world charm of staying in the Altstadt, but if you want to experience Cologne without feeling like you’re trapped in the tourist bubble, this is your spot. The four-star rating feels about right; it’s polished and reliable without any pretentious frills you don’t need.

Reviews of Adina Apartment Hotel Cologne

  • Happy – Eoin from Ireland – August 10, 2025 (10/10)

Location, the room was amazing and beds and pillows very comfortable. One of the best places I stayed in

What could be improved: The pool was not small but take nothing away from this great place

  • Very Good – Hazel-anne from Australia – August 9, 2025 (8/10)

    Location wad excellent
    Room was perfect

What could be improved: It was dissapointing to learn on arrival that the Bar and Restaurant were closed for the week of our stay.

  • Very enjoyable. – Emma from United Kingdom – August 9, 2025 (9/10)

The hotel was really clean and obviously quite new. We had a very well-appointed kitchen area with a washing machine, an oven, dishwasher and fridge. The room was very spacious and the bathroom was lovely. It’s about 20 minutes walk across the bridge into the city centre. There is a supermarket about ten minutes walk away. Really close to the train station but we didn’t hear any noise in the room. Hotel was very quiet. Pool was a great addition, very clean leisure facilities. There are two lovely restaurants right next to the hotel and we would recommend them both.

What could be improved: Because it was so quiet in the hotel, there never seemed to be anyone serving in the bar and we would have liked to sit in there sometimes. The only food on offer is breakfast.

  • Fantastic Experience – Mimi from United Kingdom – August 1, 2025 (10/10)

Beautiful brand new elegant hotel suites with modern facilities. Excellent location, just a few minutes walking distance from the station and Cologne Central Communication and check in was swift and smooth. Staff were welcoming, friendly and extremely helpful. Thanks to the ladies at reception (especially Maxi) for their care and hospitality. They went far and beyond to deliver exceptional customer service, making sure I was happy and satisfied with the hotel services. Everything was provided as described. You all made my stay worthwhile. I highly recommend it to others. I will definitely stay here when next I'm in Cologne

  • Great Studio-hotel with everything available inside the studios and in terms of facilities! Staff is very friendlu and h – Michael from Netherlands – July 30, 2025 (8/10)

Great Central Location from Messe & other key areas (Dom etc). The staff was extremely helpful and friendly even though a few things went wrong in their booking system. The studios are comfortable, spatious and clean. The garden area is great for working and it was nice chilling at the pool and sauna after a long day of work.

What could be improved: The view onto the Messe buildings (under construction) was not expected but didn’t disturb much either. Would have preferred to be asked if we had a preference between garden or Messeview. Perhaps a bit of variation for breakfast could be nice though we had everything we needed there and the kids were happy. 😉

  • Great value for money, a 15 minute walk to the city but there are restaurants nearby if you choose. I would stay again – Robert from Australia – July 26, 2025 (8/10)

Big rooms with cooking facilities, washing machine, pool and sauna. The air conditioning allowed you to reduce the temperature by-2. It was good once it got going for a few hours.

What could be improved: The air conditioner should be turned on a few hours prior to guests arrival. That would make the you more comfortable on arrival and the room not musty. As with all modern buildings there is no airflow unless the air conditioning is on. You can’t open a window.

  • Wonderful – Mark from United Kingdom – July 25, 2025 (9/10)

The room was spacious, comfortable and well equipped. We particularly appreciated the washing machine as we had been travelling for 2 weeks including camping. We enjoyed the pool. The reception staff were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed Cologne, which is a twenty minute walk over the river.

What could be improved: The lights were very confusing and the one over the sofa didn't work. The sauna is normally switched off, you need to ask reception twenty minutes before using it for it to heat up, which we didn't realise until we'd got to the pool.

  • Great hotel in a great location, with welcoming friendly staff – Deborah from United Kingdom – July 22, 2025 (10/10)

Great location for Deutz area – easy location from train station to hotel. Hotel staff are always friendly and welcoming – happy to help with anything. Room – 1 bed apartment – was a great size, well equipped with all you needed for a comfortable stay. Having kitchen facilities means you can keep costs down – laundry, cooking, fridge/freezer. We return here every year, as it suits our needs.

What could be improved: Nothing, there wasn't any improvement we could think of.

  • Modern Comfort and Great Location – A Wonderful Stay! – Sérgio from Germany – July 19, 2025 (10/10)

This hotel was one of the highlights of our trip! The bed was probably the most comfortable we experienced during our travels—such a great night’s sleep. The location was fantastic too; we enjoyed a lovely walk across the bridge to the Dom, which made exploring the city even more special.

The indoor swimming pool was another favorite, especially for our daughter—she absolutely loved it. The hotel itself is very new and stylish, and staying on the top floor made it even better with no neighbors above us, adding to the peace and quiet.

A modern, relaxing stay in a perfect spot—we’d definitely return!

  • Good value clean welcoming – will use Adina again – Vicki from United Kingdom – July 12, 2025 (9/10)

Very clean – modern – comfy beds – swimming and gym facilities. Helpful friendly staff . Nice breakfast and a nice outside area in the sun . Near a train station . Small shop in the reception. Good self catering facilities in the rooms

What could be improved: The bar and restaurant were not open on the Tuesday we arrived .
